Volubilis contains the essentially Roman remains of a fortified municipality built on an imposing site at the foot of Jebel Zerhoun. Due to its isolation and the fact that it has not been occupied for nearly a thousand years, it presents a high level of authenticity. Meknes is a city in northeastern Morocco founded in 711, it is one of the four imperial cities of Morocco and the third largest city of the kingdom with its medina which has countless doors and minarets, it is also characterized by its formidable ramparts, Its medina and the remains of the royal palace have earned Meknes a World Heritage List of Unesco.
