DESCRIPTION
Nestled in the Ammeln valley, this picturesque little town is perched at an altitude of 1000 meters, in the heart of the Anti-Atlas, surrounded by pink granite boulders of astonishing and strange shape rising above a palm grove, the houses matching the pink granite of the mountains are scattered among almond, argan and palm trees which also makes it famous for its colors.
Tiznit, the city seems to carry with it a part of the glorious history of the region: it was restored in 1882 by the Alaouite sultan Hassan I who endowed it with a long wall and still surrounds the old medina.
